The eel (Anguilla anguilla) is a snake-bodied fish with a long snout and prominent jaw. The color is variable depending on environment and development stage. To enjoy the delicious but very fat eels, it is fished with various types of nets, pots and fishing lines. Nevertheless, we should not forget that the eel is registered as "Critically endangered" by the IUCN Red List, one step immediately before the extinction.
