NORDIC WALKING TRAIL
Nordic Walking is a natural and effective method to improve own physical condition and tone up muscles, regardless of age or general athletic preparation. In the Park "Gilia for All" are available several levels: wellness, fitness and sports. It will be your daily outdoor gym. In order to enjoy entirely the Park, in the various sectors of "Gilia for All", it has been identified 7 different paths in total, along riverbanks and piers. All the itinerary are on the flat and compact surface, occasionally sometimes muddy after rains. Mostly of trail are circular (ring), with lengths ranging from 2.2 km to 17.7 km.
A true "concept of wellness". Fun, relaxing, inexpensive, easy to learn and attractive to improve the technic, in all seasons. It is part of the great family of the "Pole Walking" (go with sticks), like the more traditional trekking, which differs deeply because it doesn’t have as its primary goal the fruition of the territory, but the physical training. Indeed, using the sticks with a correct technique enable to reach the well-known benefits specifically designed to recover the correct posture. Not by chance it has been created to meet the needs of medical and physiotherapy area and today is among the most interesting preventive motor activities with the aim to encourage stretching and improving the life quality of people.
Nordic Walking is an activity that allows the body to work aerobically. This energy system is triggered in moderate activities lasting more than 20 minutes. The heart rate have to be not over the 220 beat minus the number of years of each individual. Aerobic metabolism involves the complete oxidation of two important fuels: carbohydrates and lipids. After a short time of activity are in fact used the fat storage, passed in the muscles through the bloodstream. This triggers lipolysis and causes weight loss. During a training session can burn up to 45% more calories than normal walking due to the involvement of large muscles of the upper body, such as: trapezius, Serratus anterior muscle, dorso-lateral muscle, deltoids and pectorals
The correct posture, coordination and balance body, are the first pillars of Nordic Walking, the starting point of controlling the static and dynamic position of the body. Toning up, meant to be a positive muscle mass change, is part of the training session of NW through the execution and repetition of specific exercises in order to boost different muscle groups of the upper and lower limbs and abdomen. Furthermore, the increase in lean body mass (muscle mass) give a boost to the basal metabolism, increasing energy expenditure. Nordic Walking sessions added to Interval Training allows you to accustom the heart to different degrees of intensity, improving the cardiac and pulmonary respiration output.
