The grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) reaches 90 cm in height. Its plumage is largely grey above, and off-white below, white head with a broad black supercilium and slender crest. It has a powerful, pinkish-yellow bill and yellow legs. Normally the males are larger than females. From mid-March, it lays 4-5 eggs and broods for about 25 days. It has a slow flight, with its long neck retracted (S-shaped).
