The Slender-billed gull (Chroicocephalus genei) assumes a faint pink colouration of the plumage of the breast during the breeding season. The white head and the neck have an elongated tapering appearance, and this bird also appears long-necked. The long bill is large and sharp, dark red coloured. The tail is long and wedge-shaped. The legs are red. The young are very similar to adults.
