The Yellow-legged Gull (Larus michahellis) has a stocky and large build; it has a length of 55 cm, a wingspan of 130 cm, yellow bill with a red spot and yellow legs. The juveniles are completely grey, instead the adults have head, breast and tail white. They are omnivores like most Larus gulls, and they will scavenge on rubbish tips and elsewhere, as well as seeking suitable prey in fields or on the coast.
